Biography: Myra Moreira


Myra graduated from Converse College with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a minor in Women’s Studies. Myra also obtained a master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Converse. While in graduate school, Myra interned at WestGate Training and Consultation Network (DBA WestGate Family Therapy) in Spartanburg, SC, working with various client systems in the Upstate community.  Following graduate school, Myra was a Fellow at WestGate where she continued her work with clients while also serving as the clinic’s community liaison.  Once she completed her fellowship with WestGate, Myra worked as a Primary Therapist at Eating Recovery Center, The Carolinas working with individuals and families recovering from eating disorders in the Partial Hospitalization, Intensive Outpatient, and outpatient settings.

Myra has been working with Eating Disorders since 2013 and has completed her certification as a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDS) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals. She has also completed an intensive training in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) for trauma. Myra's areas of interests include:

  • eating disorders

  • depression

  • anxiety

  • life transitions

  • grief.

Towards the end of 2020, Myra pursued a new interest and became a Certified First Responder Counselor.

When Myra is not at work, you can find her taking walks with her wife, Ashley, and twin daughters, singing or playing music, enjoying Greenville, and being creative.
